Izzy

I adopted Izzy from a boy who was giving her away on Craigslist.com. Being my first pet rat ever, I could just tell I had made a great decision in adopting her. She loved to run around my room, and kept me company all the time. She loved to steal my food, and I swear there is probably a stash somewhere under my futon. The way she left my life was entirely unexpected, and I didn’t realize how much it would affect me. All I can do now is remember that I gave her a good and loving home, and think of the sweet memories that I have of her. Now, I hope that she is happy, and I look forward to the day that I can be reunited with her. I love you Izzy–you were an amazing pet.

Isabel 12-7-06

I went to the pet store to pick up some treats for my dog, and to talk to the birds. I walked by the feeder Rat cage and saw some man wanting to buy the last Rat they had to feed his snake.
I saw Isabel..sitting there, not knowing what was going to happen to her. I waited for the man to go ask for help and made my move! I opened the cage and grabbed her and ran to the front desk and paid for her, I slipped her in my pocket and off we went. She was sooo sweet, she acted like she knew I had saved her from being a snack. She would sit on my shoulder for hours, not wanting to go back to the 3 story condo I made her. I am not sure how old she was when I got her, but I know she was not an adult. after about a week she started sneezing,,I took her to the Vet and we had her on antibiotics, they did not work, 2 weeks later when I went to give her a treat she was in her bed dead, clutching a piece of a cracker. I was devastated. I miss her so much..sometimes I think I can feel her on my shoulder =(
