In Memory of Stuart Little, Willis, Amy Grace & Emily May

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

The short time we had with you Stuart & Willis was short but I’m thankful you made your way into our home & our hearts. I’m glad we were able to give you a good home in the short time we had you. Amy Grace & Emily May you girls stole our hearts the moment you came to us in the Summer of 2004, and we have so many incredible memories of you 2 precious sisters. Running & playing in the summer sun, prancing in the grass & letting you lick our lips after we’ve had something yummy. We have new babies now but no one could take your place, you were your own special self & I have comfort in knowing you are now well & happy once again over the Rainbow Bridge waiting for us.Amy & Emily

Jack: August 29th 2005 - 15 January 2008

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

We bought Jack and his brother, Monty, when he was a month old. A few days after picking him up we realised that he was poorly his chest was crackly and he was very drowsy, we took him to the vets and although he gave us antibiotics he did not give much hope of survival at all.

But Jack was a fighter and although he hardly grew and spent much of his life taking medication he was a lovely, fun and friendly rat, who climbed the side of the cage as soon as we came in from work and spent most evenings out with us.

He fought very hard to stay with us but 2 days ago he became ill again and this time he could not fight it. He died peacefully in our arms tonight.

Thank you for the last 16 months Jack. We will miss you and so will your brothers Monty the rat and Shado the guinea pig.

Say hello to Rusty, Smudge and Stig for us.

Sleep well. Mummy and Daddy xxx

in memory of Lily and her babes

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

this is in memory of Lily and her 6 babies. She was murdered, but I’m not going into details or I’ll probably just end up crying again. :( Lily was a blue rat about 4 months old and the sweetest rat ever!!!!! & she just had her first litter. all 6 were healthy happy, and SO CUTE!!!! I wish every day that they was still alive, breathing & happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what happened was me and my bff were having a sleepover, & all nigh we were up laughing, & telling jokes, all happy RIGHT! well for the moment, yah. the next day we got up really late (like noon) & went to check the rats. when we got in we saw a bloody mess, & my aunts dog with a bloody mouth. Lily was dead and so were 2 of her 6 babies, i looked at trixy and her babies to ensure they were ok, they were, thank god, we gave the dog back to save them. we also had to take them to the pet shop for a good owner, & resently we saw them, only 3 of the 4 lived.

Cinnamon and Chelsey

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Two of my first rats passed away recently, Cinnamon and Chelsey. They both had tumors and I suppose it’s better they died than have to live with them. But I do miss them and their cage-mate, Panda, is lonely. I’ll miss them and I hope they’re happy up in ratty Heaven.

Harrington: Our little boy 2/2003 - 3/2007

Friday, August 24th, 2007

This is in memory of our boy Harrington, February, 2003 - March, 2007. He was our butter-boy, because he weighed as much as a pound of butter (and loved to eat it whenever he could). We have no vet or animal hospital in our area open after hours. Harrington suffered a stroke in the early evening on a Saturday. There was nothing we could do. We stayed with him, held him, but eventually we had to have him lay on the bed with out touching him because any touch would start a terrible seizure. As the hours passed, the seizures became more violent and he appeared to be in a coma. All we could do is cry and whisper to him letting him know we were with him. At around 1:00 in the morning, he became aware again, and tried to lick my daughter’s hand. It broke my heart. He licked her hand very weakly, and then he passed away. I can’t write this even now without crying. We loved Harrington very much. He was a wonderful boy, and spent every moment he could of his life giving us cuddles, and eating our pillows, blankets and sheets. We still have the pillow cases and sheets that are filled with the holes he made.

We now have a new boy to love. His name is Ferdinand, and he is 7 months old. He is full of attitude and loves to give kisses and have “community grooming time” with everyone.

Harlie: ??/9/2006-15/7/2007

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Harlie was a tiny tiny black self with little white feet and white belly. She was naughty, cheeky and truly seemed to believe she could fly. Missed very much by everyone who knew her, esp. amy, bruno, kester, reggie and granddma.

we love you, angel ratlet.
